A twelve-year-old boy who received the heart of a nine-year-old girl after she died in a car accident has paid a touching tribute to his little donor. Max Johnson received the heart of Carey Ball in August 2017 after she died in a car accident.

Keiri’s parents Joe and Loane Ball from Barnstaple, Devon, donated their little girl’s heart to Max, who had an enlarged heart.Max has now paid a touching tribute to Kiri, who gave him a second chance at life. He paid tribute to Keira to celebrate the new law on organ donation called «Max and Keira’s Law», meaning that anyone over the age of 18 can be a donor if they want to.

In the touching video, Max can be seen sitting with Kira’s parents Joe and Loanna Ball at their home in Winsford, Cheshire, paying tribute to their little girl. Max, who calls Keira’s parents his second family, said in the video: «If it wasn’t for Keira and her parents’ decision to donate an organ, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here. I love Keira’s family as a second family. »

«Thank you for agreeing. If Kira could hear me now, I would say a huge thank you to her, I will cherish her gift to me all my life. »

Joe described Max as a brilliant boy, while Max’s mother Emma said the video would help people understand the significance of organ donation.

Max and Keira’s law is expected to be published next year. According to this law, anyone over the age of 18 can become a donor after death, unless they register for refusal.

It is expected that this law will save many lives, as patients in desperate need of organ transplants will benefit enormously from it.
