The proud mother was left with tears in her eyes when she graduated from university seven years after becoming pregnant.
21-year-old Rachel Camp was only 14 years old when she became pregnant and was forced to leave her education and focus on becoming a mother.
However, despite her early pregnancy, Rachel never forgot about her dream of graduating from university. Six years after giving birth, the proud mother took part in the graduation ceremony and received a degree in counseling psychology.
«I just felt really good during the day. I felt overwhelming love and pride from my family, from myself, as well as from my daughter, » said the mother from England.
As Rachel added, her daughter’s smile on graduation day «will make it all worthwhile,» despite the fact that she felt anxious working, studying and being a mother at the same time. According to the 21-year-old, her little girl, Lily-Rose, was full of joy and smiled all day.»
«When I was writing my dissertation, she was doing homework next to me, so she understands how long it’s been,» Rachel added. «They accidentally mispronounced my last name when I went on stage to get my diploma, and I heard her correct them and say: «This is my mom.» After all her hard work, the young mother was not only highly appreciated by her family and friends, but also nominated for the 2020 Yorkshire Choice Award.
How she now hopes that she will be able to find a job that will allow her to provide for her daughter and spend more time with her.
