Erin and Jake Herrin were expecting a new addition to the family, but things didn’t turn out the way they wanted. In February 2002, two babies were born, named Malia and Kendra. However, the parents did not know that the girls would be Siamese twins. Despite this circumstance, Jake and Erin were still happy to join the family, but worried about the future of their daughters.

When the babies grew up, the parents began to learn about the separation of Siamese twins. And when the girls turned 4 years old, they firmly decided to give them the opportunity to live an independent life.

Despite the fact that Malia and Kendra had only two legs and each of them was responsible for one, they were quickly able to learn to walk, play and do everything together.

In 2006, an operation was performed to separate the babies, in which 31 specialists took part. The procedure lasted more than 24 hours and this event was talked about on television and the media. Thus Kendra and Malia became famous.

From the age of four, the girls became completely independent. They quickly adapted and got used to a new life. Three years later, Kendra and Malia started attending school, but they still had to alternate with home schooling. The girls began to develop artistic abilities. They could spend whole days painting in their room and humming some song at that time.

For their peers, the sisters became an example of the fact that there are no hopeless situations. They became real heroines for the school, and school friends always tried to help them.

To date, Casandra and Malia are already 18 years old. The girls have a full life and they are happy. Despite the fact that sisters can be independent from each other, they still spend almost all their time together. They have a driver’s license and they drive a great car.

Malia and Kendra have their own YouTube channel and social media pages where they talk about interesting events from their lives. The twins have tens of thousands of subscribers.

The girls have friendly relations with the mother of Siamese twins Kelly and Carter. They support a young mother and her daughters, and also give good advice, because they still have experience in this matter. Parents Kelly and Carter are also considering their separation, but have not yet decided on this step.
