A little boy with bare feet was standing outside the store and was freezing. A lot of people passed by him indifferently. That’s what one woman who was passing by did. Her act is priceless!A little boy stood barefoot in front of a shoe store on Broadway, peering out the window and shivering from the cold.
The lady approached the boy and asked: «My little boy, why are you looking so seriously out of this window?»
«I asked God to give me a pair of shoes,» the boy replied.The lady took his hand and entered the store, asked the clerk to bring them half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy.
Then she asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel, and he replied, «Of course,» and quickly complied with her request. She took the boy to the back of the store and, taking off her gloves, knelt down, washed his legs and dried them with a towel.
By this time the clerk had returned with the socks. Putting socks on the boy’s feet, she bought him a pair of shoes and put the remaining socks in a bag and gave them to him. She patted his head and said: «No doubt, my baby, are you more comfortable now?»When she turned to leave, the surprised boy grabbed her hand and, looking into her face, with tears in his eyes, asked: — Are you the wife of God?»How often do we look for God somewhere far away, when he is in each of us?
