Some songs are so infectious that they pull you into their rhythm, whether you’re part of the performance or simply watching from the audience. That was certainly the case during this delightful Christmas recital by preschoolers from the Saint Elizabeth Child Care Centre in Jersey City, New Jersey.
As the event began, the line-up of little performers looked a bit nervous, but it didn’t take long for them to get into the festive spirit. Swaying to the music, and occasionally bobbing slightly out of sync, they performed the Christmas classic, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Their energy grew with the beat, and soon their tiny arms were waving joyfully in the air as they danced and sang along with delight.
The children’s big, happy grins quickly stole the hearts of everyone in the audience, making it a performance to remember. Parents were rolling with laughter and clapping along as the kids’ enthusiasm became contagious. Their cheeky, spirited antics brought smiles to every face, perfectly embodying the joy and innocence of the holiday season.
“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is a beloved holiday song written by Johnny Marks in 1958 for 13-year-old singing prodigy Brenda Lee. Her rendition made it an instant classic, and it gained even more fame in the 1990 movie Home Alone, when Kevin used it during his fake Christmas party scene. A timeless tune, it remains a holiday favorite for audiences young and old.
